Like a Hot Knife Through Butter is a company that was created to design and create a better, more cost effective heated butter knife.
Origin of our product
Like a Hot knife Through Butter is not about a profit. It's about making life easier. On the 13th of April 2025 two family friends by the names of Josh and Brett came up with the idea for a heated butter knife. They looked online and saw it wasn't an original idea but it had a market. This meant they could try make it better and cheaper. So they did.
Design day
On the 23rd of April 2025 Josh and Brett had a design day. For inspiration they went to the one and only Hyams Beach Australia which has the whitest sand in the world. They brought many different bits of electronics and batteries. It was a giant innovation experience. They spent half the day succeeding and failing, making many different prototypes. They had the support of their lovely families excluding Si who was a bit of a detractor.They paused briefly for lunch as well as a swim at the beach.Success seemed distant yet at the tips of their fingers. The first prototype was the best because the knife actually got hot. Just like a hot knife through butter should.
About our product
Have you ever tried to have a nice piece of butter on bread? Then the hard butter ruins your bread because it has been sitting in the fridge.Well now you don't have to sacrifice your butter by leaving it out when you can use our butter knife, like a hot knife through butter. Our knife is hot enough to cut and spread butter smoothly on bread without scolding your hands, toasting your bread or burning your butter.That is why we are called Like a Hot Knife Through Butter.
